Uriah Havertong

Uriah Havertong is a Surinamese-Dutch actor whose work bridges theatre, film, and television across the Netherlands and beyond. Known for his grounded and genuine performances, he brings an instinctive understanding of rhythm, character, and human complexity to every role.

Uriah trained at the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema and Sound (RITCS) in Brussels, where he earned both his Bachelor and Master of Arts in Acting.

On stage, Uriah has performed in diverse productions such as Baard (directed by Febranof), for which he also contributed as a co-writer, and Tank (directed by Lynn Schutter), a monologue he wrote himself based on his own concept.

His screen work includes appearances in Gooische Vrouwen, Rampvlucht, Net als in de film, and Invasie, as well as the short film De laatste dag for VRT. He has also taken on complex roles in independent projects like Undecidable and Dhlomo, where he portrayed South African football legend Steve Mokone.

Uriah speaks Dutch, American and British English, German and Surinamese. This linguistic range allows him to move fluidly between characters and contexts.

Beyond acting, Uriah’s background in music and movement shapes his creative expression. With experience in rapping, singing, and several martial arts — including Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and Taekwondo — he brings a strong physical awareness and musical sensitivity to his roles.

As an exciting upcoming project, Uriah has been cast in Woiski, a feature film directed by Nicole van Kilsdonk and Manoushka Zeegelaar Breeveld, produced by Granietfilm. The film, set to shoot in 2026, tells the true story of Surinamese musicians Max Woiski Sr. and Max Woiski Jr., exploring themes of heritage, identity, and belonging in 1950s Amsterdam.

At the heart of Uriah’s work is a desire to tell stories that feel real — stories that connect people through honesty, vulnerability, and a sense of shared experience. He continues to seek out projects that challenge perception and invite empathy, always grounded in the belief that truthful performance has the power to move and unite audiences.
